Bringing Your Pet to St. Maarten-
Many spouses bring their pets over with them. Most airlines require that you pay an additional fee, usually $100-$150 per pet. Depending on the size, airlines may require that your pet fly in the cargo hold of the plane, as long as the temperature is between 45*f -85*f in either location (you can also get a note from your Vet for up to 90*f). The general consensus among spouses is that American Airlines is the preferred airline for flying with pets. You will need to contact your airline to get details as to what type of pets are allowed and what kind of carrying crate/bag they should be in.
You will also be required to bring a Health certificate from the states 10 days prior to traveling and a rabies shot.
Veterinarian Care-
Dr. DeWitt at St. Maarten Animal Hospital in Cole Bay is a great place to take your pet for its care. There are more vets on the island, but spouses have recommended this one.
